As far as class-leading aero-bikes go, the Merida Reacto range has always been at the forefront of aerodynamics and rider comfort. With the 4th generation, the design has been enhanced further still with better slipstreaming, wider tyres, neater cockpit cable integration, and a series of incremental improvements to boost performance.
The Merida Reacto Team represents the very peak of Merida’s road bikes in terms of outright performance and spec.

Merida Reacto Team Performance
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) calculations were used to model performance in a virtual wind tunnel, guiding the changes that offered the most aerodynamic benefit. Prototypes were also wind tunnel-tested following the German Tour Magazine standard, including the moving leg dummy test. As a result, the Merida Reacto CF5 needs just 209 watts effort for 45 km/h speed, making it 1 watt faster than its predecessor. This puts it in the leading group of the fastest aero road bikes ever tested by Tour Magazine.
Merida Reacto Team Design
A range of small but advanced details have been incorporated into the Merida Reacto Team’s design to minimise drag and improve aerodynamic performance. This includes details such as integrating the front disc cooler behind the fork and the rear disc calliper in the rear triangle, as well as creating new bolt-through axles with the thread integrated into the fork dropout. Further updates compensate for the aerodynamic compromises made to give the Merida Reacto bigger tyres, resulting in the perfect package of comfort, aerodynamics, lightweight, and style.
A long string of test wins, perfect scores, and awards confirm the successful evolution of the Merida Reacto range over the previous models. Cycling Weekly described the Merida Reacto as 'without doubt one of the most complete bikes available on the market'. Cycling News called it 'an utterly brilliant and faultless machine', while Cycling Plus added that they were 'hugely impressed'.
All Merida Reacto bikes come with powerful hydraulic disc brakes and callipers mounted on the chain stay for better dissipation of braking forces. Callipers sit on top of CNC aluminium disc cooler fins which reduce operating temperatures by up to 35%.
