LOOK KEO BLADE CARBON CR 16NM W/ KEO CLEAT

The Blade Carbon is the product of lengthy research by LOOK engineers to optimize all the innovative concepts developed within the family of blade pedals. The result is a pedal that is even more secure, stable, light and powerful.

SPINDLE : MORE STABILITY AND BETTER LOAD DISTRIBUTION

Axle play (related to internal bearing movement and part wear) is eliminated by a wave spring that constantly applies a pre-load that does not deteriorate over time. When pushing hard on the pedals, this system can completely eliminate the annoyances caused by any play (noise and sensation of friction ).

LOOK axles are only approved after a rotational test of 2 million cycles at 100tr/min with a load of 90kg on the center of the pedal and an eccentric rotation (creating a shock on each rotation). This is equivalent to a Mark Cavendish sprint at 1700 watts with 100 revolutions/min for 333 hours!

CONTACT SURFACE AREA : MAXIMUM POWER TRANSFER

To answer the desires of some of the most demanding cyclists, notably competitors, the pedal and cleat system must allow efficient power transfer through a broad and rigid contact surface.

CARBON TECHNOLOGY

Using a carbon body can lighten the pedal weight and provide an additional gain in stiffness for better power transfer.

Primera Review

The pedal choice of champions.

Some of the Primera Sports riders have been using LOOK pedals since they were very first made in the 1980’s, they fast became a firm favourite with road riders across the world. The great Bernard Hinault used them in 1985 to win the Tour De France and before long the whole peloton were using them. They were thought as safer than toe clips and straps which were the other option. Riders would lean down and tighten the leather straps when approaching a climb or sprint finish and their feet would be held tight, very tight. When the LOOK system pedals were introduced they were a sensation, no more need to cut off your circulation as your feet were going nowhere. If you are looking at going clipless LOOK pedals should be at the top of your list, they come in at all different price levels and the more you spend the lighter and more adjustable they become.
