Lightweight and responsive
A lightweight, responsive, premium A1 aluminum frame, partnered with either 29” or 27.5” wheels results in a fast, fun and comfortable ride. The addition of EVO models, which utilize the very best of the smaller 27.5” wheel size, with snappy acceleration and agile handling produces a range of excellent value hardtails, suitable for almost any rider, from the cross country whippets, to the aggressive trail rider.
The Rockhopper frame is fully formed and butted resulting in a stiff, lightweight frame, without sacrificing strength. The entry level Rockhopper Sport, featuring the larger 29” wheels remains stable on descents and over rougher terrain, whilst maintaining comfort and stability. Hydraulic brakes, a SR Suntour fork with hydraulic lockout as well as a Shimano Acera/Altus drivechain result in a very well specced and excellent value bike, more than capable for our local routes over the Purbeck Hills and through the New Forest.
The Comp version introduces a lighter air sprung fork, with ‘Multi Circuit Damping’, which results in plusher, more capable suspension fork. The Expert 29 features a more accomplished 2x10 Shimano drivechain, with an upgraded Specialized Stout wheelset. Our most popular model, the Expert level spec is one of the best value and best specced hardtails available today.
Now for the EVO models… The Expert EVO, with 650b (otherwise known as 27.5”) wheels is a little different to the standard Rockhoppers. Featuring a 120mm travel, air sprung suspension fork, with a wider diameter 32mm stanchion results in a seriously capable bike. The Pro Evo model, the top of the range Rockhopper, features a huge range of components ready to tame the toughest trails. A Rock Shox XC32 fork with a 15mm thru-axle creates a stiff front end, without sacrificing comfort. The addition of a Specialized command dropper post allows you to keep riding regardless of how steep or technical the trail gets.
