Versatility and comfort
Adventure and utility, The AWOL is a bike that’s happy to take you to and from work during the week. Then at the weekends it’s ready to hit the roads or the trails for a mini tour or a bivvy bag session.
Versatility and comfort are two more things that the AWOL excels in. The geometry is designed to be comfortable so if it’s just a weekend ride or a three week tour the AWOL will give you that all day comfort. On the AWOL Comp model you have some very clever adjustable drop outs which will give you the options of running a geared hub, a belt drive or a single speed setup. The rear brake placement on the chainstay means you can run racks and mudguards with no fitting issues.
The first AWOL in the range comes with the ever reliable Shimano Sora groupset and a Reynolds premium Cr-Mo butted frame. Avid BB7 brakes provide the stopping power so even if the bike is fully laden you will have every confidence in the stopping power.
Next in the range comes the AWOL Elite. On this model you get treated to a full mudguard and rack set. This makes the Elite truly ready for any adventure. The brakes have been upgraded too. On this model you get the Tektro Spyre mechanical disc brakes. These brakes are the first cable disc brakes to have dual pad actuation.
The AWOL Comp tops the line up and gets some nice features over the other models. The frame gets a better tube set with a mix of Reynolds 725 and 520 tubing. The adjustable drop outs also feature on this model. A SRAM Apex groupset gets included too. The APEX groupset allows the use of a much wider ratio cassette (11-36) so you get a very wide range of gears to combat any terrain.
