I love a 2 day Stage Race, the format and form entered was always going to make this a tough race, and on day one the hill climb and TT course records fell and I was happy to be mid pack going into the RR on day two.. team mates all up in contention would make the 66 mile lulworth loop the decider.. riders numbers placed you in GC order so it was team tactics to get two boys up the road and then see what unfolded. George Skinner and Nicholas Tyrie didn’t disappoint and headed up the road leaving myself Sam Wadsley and Nick Hale in the peloton... the climb took its toll dropping riders each lap, we held on and loosing nick hale after a few laps which left Sam and myself in a group of 20 with the 5 up the road, 2 laps left and all the riders were together and a bunch sprint to the line was to decide results and from 48 starters only 25 finished. For me a 16th and happy to have finished, it was a 2hr 35 min max effort today...I was blocked by a rider puncturing on the hill sprint but great to see Nick and Sam up ahead crossing the line in 4th and 8th... the team were fantastic and so proud of the boys more top results to come and Sam Wadsley you know you’re a Road Racer really

Sam Wadsley.....
Great weekend racing bicycles. Was chuffed to end the first day of racing inside the top 10 riders. I put my early season road bike time trial racing to good use, and managed to put a handful of seconds into the riders around me after the hill climb. The time trial always leaves you wanting more, and contemplating where you lost crucial seconds, but I was happy enough with my ride.

Sunday’s road race saw Nick & George riding strongly off into the break which looked liked it was out to stay for the majority of the race, but was bought back in the penultimate lap. It gave all our other team riders a free ride in the bunch behind, and when the break was caught I made a few small digs to try and get away, but everyone was very tentative not to let anyone go in the final kilometres. I gave it full beans in the bunch kick up the hilltop finish, and came away with 8th on stage and overall. Now just a handful of points away from a 2nd cat licence

Nick Tyrie.....
Thoroughly enjoyed racing with the team at the Bournemouth Jubilee 2 Day! Everyone rode strongly on the first day especially Sam who smashed the TT putting him 9th on GC. Getting lost on the way to the hill climb and sprinting to the start was a bit embarrassing from me but you live and learn
The goal on the final stage was to get riders in the break to hopefully contend with the top guys on GC. All looked to be going to plan with myself and George up the road and Jules, Nick and Sam marshalling the bunch. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and we were caught on the penultimate lap. Nothing was getting away on the last lap and it came down to a bunch kick up the wall. I managed 5th with Sam in 8th. Overall a great couple of days racing with the boys! Bring on the next one
