As Autumn approaches the gravel tracks are looking more inviting than ever. An opportunity to get away from the traffic and onto the gravel tracks around the country.

We all live near some good off-roading even if you haven't found it yet. 2019 sees all the major brands producing some amazing options with larger knobbly tyres, check them out at one of our stores or online.

Specialized have extended their Diverge model range with price points to suit everyone, try out the future shock system off-road and you will be hooked. Cannondale has also got some very cool bikes including the new Topstone range as purpose-designed gravel machines or the CAAD and SUPER X range.

At Primera, we are lucky enough to have some of the best tracks in the country just a short ride away. The New Forest has a full network of gravel tracks where you seldom see anyone during our riding feeling like we have our own private routes. On a four hour ride we hit the very little tarmac and once you are in the forest it feels like you are another planet, peace and quiet with miles of sweeping tracks.
Pop into our Bournemouth or Poole stores and we will run you through suitable bikes for the job.

If it's your first time at off-road riding you should also take a look at the pedal and shoe options. Different to your road pedal system as the cleat is recessed into the shoe, this makes walking easier as you have a very stable grippy sole. Pedals are double sided so whichever way the pedal flips you can clip in and off you go! No looking down to find you pedal, just clip in either side and off you go.

Now if you are looking for gravel fun with a little help you should look at the Bianchi Electric gravel bike! Pedal assistance on the hills can make it more fun if you have limited training time. E-Bikes have made it a level playing field with your cycling mates or partner who has more time to train as you can still ride together at a decent pace.

Orro in another brand with some exciting machines for gravel riding. The Orro Terra C has been very popular since it hit the market, great tyre clearance and a forgiving ride off road.

There is a lot to discover with these type of bikes where the tubeless tyre system is very popular. Removing the inner tubes lets you run at lower pressures as you get no pinch punctures! Then to compliment this option we put a flat tyre sealant inside the tyre which repairs small holes without you even knowing you have had a flat.
It's an exciting time as the bike market finds more adventure
