A day out at Thruxton & Hardriders TT for the Primera-TeamJobs team. New kit awesome!
For some of the team it was first outing in the team kit, after a terrific job by Endura we had some very happy riders.
Riding Thruxton E12 race was Tom Temple, Jacob Aries & Alex Collins. It was a cold day with a chilling wind to take it down a few more degrees. The race started fast with attacks going straight away, Tom was determined to get in the break so worked hard to cover every move. After around 20 minutes a break formed and the race was on, Tom was in it and looked comfortable. Jacob & Alex were in the main pack and with a team mate up the road they couldn’t give chase. With 10 minutes to go and a good gap to the break, Jacob felt it was time to get going and move up from his group. He soon started catching riders on the road and worked up to a top 16 place.  Tom riding junior gear restrictions did not want a sprint finish with the seniors so set about trying to get away either by himself or with another rider, nothing working and it came down to a 9 man sprint. Tom claimed 4th spot and came away happy.
Jacob finished 16th with Alex retiring having raced the day before at Odd Down circuit.
In the 3/4 race we had Julian Lockwood & Elliot Cox. Elliot arrived back from Mallorca the evening before & was up for a good ride, unfortunately after a few laps & a touch of wheels in front of him a small group came down. Elliot hit the tarmac hard, carried on for a few laps but retired shortly after. Julian was on it from the start, never out the top 10 & ready for a race. Covering breaks throughout Julian looked good and a sprint finish looked on the cards. Teams were rolling the sprint out at good speed with Julian picking up a well earned 7th place.
In the Hardriders TT aero man Lewis Keightley took to his road bike for the early season race against the clock. Two laps of the Perf course was the set out route which some people already know is a tough one. Long, Long climb with the very fast descent followed by some more technical back road sections. Lewis came home in 3rd place which was a great season opener.
The boys looked comfortable all race and the kit looked terrific. Specialized supplied S-Works Shoes & Helmets for the team which have gone down a storm & performed beautifully.
