Tour De France in full swing!

The 97th Tour De France is well underway with some exciting results already, having started on the Saturday 3rd July and ending on the Sunday July 25th 2010. This year the Tour De France will be made up of 20 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,600 kilometres. The total distance that has been covered since the race started in 1903 is 350,000 kilometres. The same distance between the earth and the moon and has been completed with more than 10,000 riders participating.
Last year’s winner was Alberto Contador who finished the race in 85 hours, 40 minutes and 35 seconds, nearly 5 minutes earlier than the rider behind. Alberto Contador is also favourite to win this year’s Tour De France ahead of Lance Armstrong who is second favourite. If so, it will be a hatrick for Contador.
If you’re thinking of joining the Tour De France for 2011 then it is important that you have the right bike which is guaranteed to go the distance. There are many different bikes that would be suitable for this. The main ones are Specialized, Cervelo, and Lapierre bikes. All these bikes are specialised, and made to a high standard. On top of this the equipment and accessories also need careful consideration. Assos have a huge range of accessories that would be perfect for all conditions.
Primera are also running a Tour De France offer in which you will receive a free wireless computer for every order worth over £250. The offer is only valid until 26th July so hurry those orders in to get yours!
