Bournemouth Echo editor picks up his Trek bike for the Macmillan Bike Ride


Bill Temple, owner of Primera Sport and Peter Smith-Nicholls, organiser of the Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride, present Daily Echo editor Neal Butterworth with a bike which he will use for the ride.
Daily Echo editor Neil Butterworth will be amoung hundreds of cyclists using pedal power this summer to raise money for a worthy cause.
Organiser of this years Macmillan Dorset Bike Ride on Sunday, July 5th is hoping to swell the charity coffers by £100,000..
Last year 800 cyclists took part in the event, raising £83,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
You can cycle individually or as part of a team of four and choose from six circular routes of 15, 25, 40, 50, 60 or even 100 miles winding their way through picturesque Dorset country-side. You will see Primera mechanics around the route and at the start area offering help to all riders.
All routes start and finish in Broadstone with refreshments along the way. Neil is planning to cycle 60 miles with his trainer, local advertising agency boss Phil Tucker.
