No ordinary road bike
This is no ordinary road bike; It’s based around Specialized Performance geometry which is designed for distance riding. It also has some clever adaptations that enable you to go to places you never thought you could on a road bike. This makes the Diverge great on long road rides but if you see a fire road that you want to explore then you can go and ride it. If you want to enjoy some light touring then the Diverge can do this too.
The tyre clearance has been increased so you can run up to a 700 x 35c tyre. This will give you more grip and more comfort. If you wanted to run full length mudguards you can still fit a 700 x 32c tyre.
Disc brakes are fitted to all of the Diverge models for reliable all weather braking. The placement of the brakes on the chainstays means you will have no issues fitting mudguards and a rack.
There are three different frames being used in the range. It starts with the A1 Aluminum frame this is found on the Diverge A1, the Diverge Sport A1 and the Diverge A1 Elite. The next level of frame that Specialized use is the E5 D’Aluisio Smartweld frame which is found on the Diverge Comp Smartweld, this frame is lighter and stiffer but still remains compliant. The Diverge Expert Carbon gets the FACT 10r Carbon frame for the ultimate ride quality.
