Snappy acceleration and excellent handling

A lightweight M4 aluminum frame, air sprung forks and a host of race ready components result in a bike that is all set for any singletrack adventure. Shimano, Sram, Rockshox, Fox – the list goes on… The Crave is the ideal bike for an all day epic across the Purbeck Hills, or a high-speed blast around theNew Forest.

The 29er specific geometry, including a longer top tube and short chainstays, results in snappy acceleration and excellent handling, making the most of the larger wheel size. A 1-1/8” to 1-1/2” steerer tube increases front-end stiffness whilst a redesigned seatstay improves vertical compliancy by 12.5%. The M4 aluminum used on all the Crave models is almost 30% stronger than the aluminum used on the Rockhopper, allowing for the designers to use less material, which ultimately results in a lighter bike. These frame design features create a lightweight, versatile and incredibly quick bike.

The excellent value Crave Comp features a Rockshox Recon Gold air sprung fork, Shimano hydraulic brakes and a mixture of both Sram and Shimano transmission components. Specialized finishing kit, including Stout XC SL rims partnered to Hi-Lo alloy hubs top off an excellent value hardtail, ready for a race day sprint or an all day ride in the mountains.

Upgraded Shimano brakes and transmission components as well as a lighter, stiffer Rockshox Reba RL fork, including a handlebar mounted remote lockout make up the next model in the range – the Crave Expert. The top of the range Crave Pro introduces a super plush Fox Float Evolution fork, which features a CTD dial. CTD, or Climb, Trail and Descend alters the compression of the fork, resulting in improved efficiency and comfort over all terrains.

The forks used on the Crave range all have 100mm of travel, meaning in a slightly taller front end when compared to other cross country hardtails, such as the Stumpjumper. This results in a slightly more relaxed and more comfortable riding position and as such, the Crave is definitely one of our best selling mountain bikes.
