If you love your cycling but want to improve, does coaching work?

It's fair to say that if you want to improve your fitness taking on a cycling coach not only gives you a training program but also someone looking out for you when it comes to progress. With Training Peaks, your coach can monitor your training and improvements from a far and change things when needed. There are lots of coaching companies to choose from and it can become a mine field. Not only for racing, if you have entered an important event such as Ride London getting help with your training can make the whole experience more enjoyable.

TJ Key is coached by BikestrongUK and tells us of the benifits he has found.

Since working with Bikestrong UK I've realised how investing in coaching is the best thing you can do to improve your performance, enjoyment and health on the bike.

Beforehand I had been training myself, and as a student thought coaching was expensive. However since I first spoke to the coaches at Bikestrong I knew that it was exactly what I needed to push me on. The communication is excellent with a programme to suit my own goals and life commitments which is a massive thing for me with a busy life. It's definitely not just a copy and paste one size fits all training programme! I've seen consistent increases in fitness as well as being able to stress far less about planning my own training and about whether I'm doing the right thing all the time. Would I say it's expensive now? Absolutely not, its the best investment I've ever made!
